I am amazed...

I am amazed at how many projects I can start and not finish. Just this afternoon I found no less than 7 (yes, 7) 30-36" afghans that I crocheted last fall. They were in a box. What needed to be finished on them? Just the tail ends of the yarn tucked in. That's it, nothing else. Don't you think I should have done that when I crocheted them? But NO, I didn't. Now they are done, and ready to be donated to the childrens' oncology unit. {{Sigh}} Did I learn from this? NO, I didn't. Just found a stack of adult crocheted hats that I also started last fall. What's left? Yes, you got it, the tail ends of the yarn. Want to make this worse? I've got 10 pair of baby booties, 6 neck scarves, and about 18 baby hats in the same shape.

I'm finishing all these projects before I start another item. This is crazy. And it doesn't just pertain to these items. I do this with other things too. Cleaning, embroidery, yard work, anything. I procrastinate more than anyone I know. And yet, I don't do it at work. Go figure!

What I accomplished today!

What I accomplished on this Saturday. You may think some of these are silly, like getting dressed, but for many weeks, while healing, I spent 24 hours a day in a nightie! Also, many of my days, after work, I don't get much done. Too tired.
  • Got dressed
  • 2 Loads of laundry washed, dried and put away!
  • Recycled newspapers
  • 5 Totes brought down to main floor for crop next week!
  • Mailed letter

Life doesn't always happen the way you want

Life doesn't always happen the way you want. On Feburary 11th, I fell on the ice and broke my right ankle. Had surgery on February 18th, and went back to work on March 11th (I have a sit down job). In and out of one cast or boot after another. So tiring. Last week was my first full week back to work. During the weeks of almost non-stop sitting, I found projects I had started and never finished for one reason or another.

My goal this year, in addition to continuing the purge of boxes, is to finish these projects, and gifts, etc. and use them (or store them until they can be given.) I want to finish all the partially read books, too. There are too many unfinished things in my life.

I still hope to paint my main floor bathroom, but being the ligaments I tore in the fall will take 9-12 months to heal, it might not get painted until later this year. {{sigh}}

New Year - New Journal

Last year I posted about my need to clean my house. That is still in the works, but hopefully I'll do some other things this year. I hope to rework a couple rooms in my house with paint, new flooring, and new countertops. Wish me luck.
